
The Gustav Seeland GmbH haulage company was founded in Hamburg by Gustav Seeland. Most of the company’s initial orders were for carrying small loads in and around Hamburg.
Haulage activities were expanded by acquiring a 1.25-ton truck, a 1.75-ton truck, a 3.2-ton truck, and two trailers.
In 1960, Helmut Beckedorf took over the management of Gustav Seeland GmbH. A systematic expansion of the heavy haulage and specialized transport division ensued.
Continued development of the heavy haulage division. In-plant transportation and relocation services were added to the portfolio. The first purpose-built long trailer took to the road in 1972, offering a means of transporting loads of up to 22 meters in length.
Systematic expansion of the company’s fleet and establishment of the company’s own administration and scheduling departments. A new office building and a workshop were built in Hamburg.
The company acquired its first truck-mounted crane and expanded this line of business. 1995 saw the second generation of company owners taking over the management of Gustav Seeland GmbH: Frank and Olaf Beckedorf. The company moved to new premises in Werner-Siemens-Straße in Billbrook.
2004: Co-founder of BigMove AG, a consortium of competent, successful companies in the heavy haulage and high-volume transportation sectors.
2010 saw the first high-capacity lifting gantry being incorporated into the company portfolio. The lifting gantry offers customers significant advantages and serves as a key element for safe, reliable and productive heavy haulage.
2013: Development and incorporation of a tablet application to handle the operational, planning and organizational activities for orders.
Successful SCCP certification in 2016. Subsequent commencement of activities in the field of industrial installations in accordance with the SCCP certificate.
